Though I love all colors, recent creations are influenced by monochrome shades-these very subtle nuances of winter, Regency era delicate garments, Jane Austen novels and some lovely old lace/silk remnants. Hand painted small cameos harmonize with the texture and nature of old lace pieces.

Viimase poole aasta inspiratsioon on kõrvarõngad- mida rohkem eksperimenteerida seda rohkem ideid tekib- üks idee viib teiseni nagu tavaliselt. From autumn into winter I have been inspired about to create earrings- winter designs look like a little pieces of ice- delicate, fragile and elegant, a sparkling treasures from Snow- Queen's jewelry-box. Another huge freeform- embroidered neckpiece, inspired of "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" I 've been musing this movie so long, it was obvious that something will be created one day out of this inspiration. This elaborate necklace is "built" of 60' painted rusty silk dress remnants and 70's bright blue silk blouse into organic piece. It is entirely hand sewn and embroidered, combining very fine, invisible stitches with rough and colorful dimensional surface design elements- applique, embroidery, textures- and adorned with lavishly hand beaded accents.

Tribal Priestess

The newest freeform embroidered neckpiece. The process of creating these pieces is excitingly magical since I do not use any sketches, but trust the material to “tell” me the choice of thread, next stitch, a drop of color.. beading pattern. It is deeply meditative state of mind, to let subconscious freely follow the sense of color and feel of different textures. The result is painterly and emotional. "Tribal Priestess" is made from wide array of different materials- vintage lace and velvet, antique Victorian embroidered black tulle, reconstructed pearls, silk, hand beading...

I have been admiring some old Chinese embroideries lately, the amazing colors and elaborate work...thrilling! www.textiletreasures.info
So one night I thought to try out some subtle visions in mind, inspired of these bold colors/textures - and could not stop stitching until it was morning..The pictures below show the result of this spontaneous stitching meditation: a cuff with stylized image of Red Lotus, petals embroidered with wool and cotton threads, lavishly beaded with hundreds of seed beads.

More and more, tiny details, feelings and thoughts evoked by random finds are the sources for inspiration...Took this photo of randomly picked fabric pieces before making the necklace- and the other one is the finished piece. The yellow spot at first photo is a paper price tag, tangled in fibers. This necklace can be worn aso as a brooch as it has secure brooch pin attached at back. Pictures below - before and after:
