Spring moods/Kevadised meeleolud

The Spring brings inspiration of all things dreamy and delicate- cherry-blossoms, peonies, irises...One weekend I needed a gift for a friend and knew she loves cherry blossoms. After little study and experimenting, I created this little series of brooches. The petals of the blooms are hand-cut and hand sculpted from softest silk satin with very fine texture, it feels like a real flower. The body of the brooch is made of ochre/moss/brown mohair.
Next I was intrigued about the irises- one of my favorite flowers. The result of this inspiration is very lightweight yet sturdy- no glue was used to create these little textile sculptural brooches, each petal is stitched into shape. I am quite pleased with the result :)

Kevadiselt kerged ja õhulised lilleprossid- kirsiõied, pojengid ja iirised. Kirsiõie-prosside idee tekkis ühel nädalavahetusel sünnipäevakingituse üle mõtiskledes. Üllatavalt elutruud kukkusid välja, kuigi visioonis nägin pisut rohkem stiliseeritud varianti. Õielehed on siidisest satiinist, oksake aga mohäärist keerutatud. Järgmisena paelus mind iiriseõite "lõige"- tulemus on udukerge kuid samas vastupidav- mingit liimi pole nende õite valmistamisel kasutatud, kõik on õielehthaaval kokku õmmeldud- väike tekstiiliskulptuur.
